The Groupement des Néphrologues Francophones de Belgique is a non-profit association founded in 1996 for and by nephrologists whose role is to represent and defend the interests of the nephrology community, collect epidemiological dialysis data in the French-speaking world and, finally, ensure continuing education and support/dissemination of various nephrology study projects.

We need the support and participation of each nephrologist to make this professional network a strong and representative network with our government bodies.

Your support is needed

The GNFB needs the commitment and support of as many of you as possible to continue to exist and develop as a sustainable and innovative nephrology association. Without you, the GNFB cannot continue its missions and actions in defence of our wonderful profession!

Join our community to advance French-speaking nephrology!

If I am or become a GNFB member, what are my benefits?

Annual grant for the ERA-EDTA congress

To attend the annual ERA-EDTA congress, the GNFB awards you a grant (per university, max 3) for MACCS in nephrology training and/or young resident nephrologists. Grant amount: €1,500. In return, the grant recipient must deliver a 15-20 minute presentation summarising the latest advances in dialysis, transplantation, acute and chronic renal failure, fluid-electrolyte disorders, glomerulopathies, vascular access and nephro-genetics at the joint GNFB-NBVN event (late June each year). Topics are assigned by the respective presidents of the GNFB/NBVN after a survey of all grant recipients.

Continuing education organised by the GNFB

You have free access to the 4 annual continuing education events organised by the GNFB (2 in-person events and 2 webinars).

Access to webinar replays is also possible via member access (myGNFB). Accreditation is automatic for members in good standing with their subscription.

Legal notices

Note that, although GNFB board members are sometimes called upon to participate in INAMI meetings, just like other doctors, the GNFB does not claim to have a political role or particular regulatory prerogatives.

The GNFB has no particular conflict of interest but, without the financial support (sponsoring) of industry and pharmaceutical companies, it is impossible for us to carry out our various missions (maintaining the CORN registry) and organise in-person GNFB events (2 per year).

It is on this same basis that donations from individuals are also possible. Industrial or individual donors are thanked by displaying their logo on the GNFB website. A presentation of detailed accounts is therefore open to all at the annual Peer Review session, with the amount of the various sponsorships and expenses published at that session.
